Program overview

The Master of Applied Science in Information Systems Security trains students to design, implement and manage the security of real-life information systems. Through applied research and academic coursework, you will be exposed to theories and practices currently used in securing information systems. You will have access to state-of-the-art laboratories and established research centres in a Faculty whose research topics include biometrics, cyber forensics, database security and cryptography. Financial support may be provided by a thesis advisor.

Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science.

Proficiency in English

Proficiency in English. Applicants whose primary language is not English must demonstrate that their knowledge of English is sufficient to pursue graduate studies in their chosen field. Please refer to the English language proficiency page for further information on requirements and exemptions.

Degree Requirements

Fully-qualified candidates are required to complete a minimum of 45 credits.

In order to graduate, students must have a CGPA of at least 2.70.

For initial assessment purposes, scanned and uploaded copies of documents are accepted.  To finalize a file, once admitted, Concordia University will require official documents.

The Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering is an international centre of teaching and learning excellence established as a department within the Faculty. It promotes interdisciplinary research and development of information technologies in software and systems engineering. CIISE has three affiliated research laboratories:
